Also this year, the Dosi Group joined the “Guidarello Giovani XVI – Reportage in Azienda” initiative, organized by Confindustria Romagna, in collaboration with the Regional Office for Emilia Romagna – Territorial Area of Ravenna, and with the support of the Ravenna Chamber of Commerce. The competition, now well established as one of the main guidance interventions for young people, is aimed at high school students in the province, in charge of developing their own presentation of the company they visit.
On Tuesday 11 October 2022, the class 4 A SIA of the “A. Oriani” Technical Institute of Faenza came to discover the history, organization and production process of the companies of the Dosi Group.
The reception took place in the new covered space between the two factories. After a short presentation, Mr. Alberto Dosi introduced the students to the company by telling them a bit of the history of the Dosi Group and answering the questions and curiosities of the class both about the company and its experience. Then Mr. Dosi explained to the students what sustainability means inside a company is and what he is doing to improve the sustainability of its companies. The students were pretty interested and asked many questions about the projects being carried out.
The visit inside the company began with the carpentry and welding departments of Dosi Costruzioni Meccaniche Srl, then moving on to mechanical processing and quality control. Then they moved to the extrusion line of Baruffaldi Plastic Technology Srl, where Mr. Dosi explained to the students the extrusion process and the various machines and equipment for the plastic processing sector that are designed and built by the company. During the tour, particular attention was paid to the projects that the company is carrying out to improve its level of sustainability: first of all, the students saw with their own eyes how waste and packaging are managed, also interviewing machine operators , they saw the management panel of the photovoltaic system, appreciated the company’s electrical cars and, last but not least, they saw Smart Industry. Smart Industry, also awarded at Excelsa 2021, is the proprietary Industry 4.0 platform implemented on Baruffaldi – Primac machines for remote machine management, which has allowed not only remote interventions, but also start-ups, thus reducing the resulting carbon dioxide emissions from flights. The students also showed great interest in the circular economy project that the Dosi Group is carrying out together with Nier and the University of Bologna to measure their level of circularity and improve it. At the end of the visit the students had a nice break that allowed them to ask additional questions about the companies and the projects related to sustainability.
During the award ceremony on 17.11.2022, the class won the “Sustainability Award” thanks to the video they made that put together the theory they learnt at school and what they saw during the visit.
At the end of a month dedicated to students, friday 18th November 2022 the class 5AMM – Mechanic of the Polo Tecnico Professionale of Lugo visited the companies of the Dosi Group, on the occasion of the Thirteenth National Day of Small and Medium Enterprises (PMI DAY), organized by Piccola Industria Confindustria to introduce the new generations to the business world and its opportunities. The focus of this edition was the “beauty of Italian know-how” and the companies of the Dosi Group were a clear example of what it means to be Italian and the high quality of Italian products for the students.
